Cloquet Girl Scout is Top Cookie Seller

[Cloquet, MN] Jaydon Lawrey, a local seventh grader, is this year’s Top Cadette Cookie Seller for the Girl Scouts Lakes and Pines Council.

Over the past Girl Scout Cookie Season, Lawrey was able to use the Girl Scout Cookie Program to earn proceeds for her troop’s upcoming events and activities.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program not only provides the community with delicious cookies every winter, but it teaches young girls financial literacy as well. Through the Cookie Program, Girl Scouts are able to develop the valuable life skills of goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.

As a member of Troop 4147, Lawrey spent the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Season ferociously selling Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, and more on her way to becoming the Top Cadette Cookie Seller in the council. A Girl Scout Cadette is a girl in Grades 6-8.

As the top seller in her program level, Sophia received multiple recognitions including a large plush fox, a brand-new tablet and a personalized plaque to commemorate her accomplishment. She also earned money for her troop so they can fund future events and Cookie Dough Credits which she can put towards her own future camps and adventures.
